Our Story
Nicosia started its first Squash Association in 1989. The Nicosia have produced hundreds of junior athletes thought CSRA’s programs. The Nicosia squash players have been awarded by Cyprus Olympic Committee as the best Male and Female junior athletes.
Through the years the Nicosia Squash Associations has organized major events and assisted CSRA with the World Squash Open that took place on November 1995 and we aim to continue this great tradition.
The World Squash Federation has published a new history of its sport, dating back to 1850 in Harrow England. Check out the history of our beautiful game
Goals and Objectives
Promote the sport
We aim to introduce the sport of squash to students across schools and universities in Nicosia, encouraging a new generation of players to take up the sport and enjoy its many benefits.
Organize events & tournaments
We organize various tournaments and leagues throughout the year to promote competitive squash in Nicosia. These events provide opportunities for athletes to showcase their skills and improve through competition.
Utilize & Maintain Courts
Our goal is to ensure that the squash courts at the Eleftheria Stadium are effectively utilized. We make these courts available to our members and partner academies, while overseeing a fair allocation of court time among all stakeholders. Additionally, we are committed to the regular maintenance and upkeep of these courts to ensure they remain in top condition for all users. This involves routine inspections, cleaning, and necessary repairs to provide a safe and enjoyable playing environment.
Promote fair competition
We maintain a comprehensive registry of all squash athletes competing in the Nicosia district. This registry helps us keep track of player development and ensures that all athletes are recognized and supported. Additionally, we are committed to ensuring fair competition and transparency. Our registry system is designed to provide accurate and up-to-date information about athletes, their rankings, and tournament results, which promotes a transparent and fair environment for all participants.
Programs & Initiatives
School and University Outreach Program
Our outreach program involves visits to schools and universities where we conduct squash workshops and demonstrations. The program aims to spark interest in squash among students and encourage them to join our association or partner academies.
Community Events
We organize community events such as squash exhibitions, open days, and social gatherings to promote the sport and bring the community together. These events are open to the public and aim to foster a love for squash.
Court Booking Management
We manage the court booking platform for the Eleftheria Stadium squash courts. Members and partner academies can book courts through this platform, ensuring fair and efficient use of the facilities.
Junior Training Camps
In partnership with the Nicosia Squash Academy, we offer training camps for junior players. These camps focus on skill development, physical fitness, and the mental aspects of the game, helping young players reach their full potential.
Squash Tournaments and Leagues
Our tournaments and leagues are designed to provide structured competition for players of all levels. Whether it's our open tournaments or closed league competitions, we ensure that every event is well-organized and competitive.
